THE HERO’S JOURNEY

Homework: Please have some questions to submit to DJ, Kate, Joe, and Javier for tomorrow based on our most recent e-mail exchange.  That means that you need to look at what they had to say and ask some related or clarifying questions.  Of course, some new question threads are also welcome.

Remember that the goal of this part of the class is to connect the literature to something real in our lives, as well as preview possible challenges found after graduation.

As with anything in life, what you get out is based on what you put in.

THE HERO’S JOURNEY

Over the next couple of days, we will continue to work through the Hero’s Journey as seen in George Lucas’ movie Star Wars.

Something to ponder – How does the Hero’s Journey change (if at all) when we place Princess Leia in the hero role?  How do we view or treat female heroes differently than male heroes?

THE HERO’S JOURNEY

You can find the description of the Hero’s Journey or Monomyth that we are using by clicking on the previous link.

We will be using the movie Star Wars as our initial Hero’s Journey.   It is a storyline that most people know at least something about through popular culture and , well… it’s a great movie!

For homework, please finish going through the Hero’s Journey description and be ready to add any thoughts to the notes we are taking in class.
